CC3 Challenge #4

Howdy all !   We've almost made it to Friday .. one more day.   My intentions of having my CC3 project in before I went on vacation last week didn't really work out too well,  but I tried.   Challenge number four is technique #49 - Layering stencils: Texture paste.     Two of my favorite things !!!

I started with an 8x8 canvas and covered it with Tim's tissue wrap - Melange.   Then I used two layering stencils, Chevron and Dot fade.    I'm telling you Dot Fade is one of my most used stencils .. I have three of them because I'm wearing it out  :)   Here's the canvas with the paste on ...........

I used Distress Ink in - Frayed Burlap, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey and Mustard Seed .. ok so if you've read my past posts you may have recently read that I hid my Mustard Seed so I would quit using it on everything ..  well somehow that little bugger made it back into my ink stack .. LOL

I used a butterfly from Tim's salvage stickers (Crowded Attic) and placed it over the butterfly on the tissue wrap.   I then used grunge paper and cut out letters using Tim's Word Play Sizzix die.  I used the Peeled Paint distress ink and inked my letters.  I'm not really happy with this only because the brown butterfly just doesn't really fit .. but I didn't want to color it and mess it up completely so I just left it be  :)

Well I hope everyone has a great weekend !  Check out lindaledbetter.com for details if you want to join.   Tim and Mario are giving an awesome prize pack for the winner and also  The Funkie Junkie Boutique is giving a gift card to a random draw.

Thanks for stopping in for a look .. Happy Crafting !!!

  3. This is sort of AWESOME. Love this SO much. You used texture perfectly here, enhancing but not overwhelming your design. And you make me smile wearing out your stencils. Ha, that's great!!

  6. Cim....your card is soooo pretty! I love your butterfly theme and the sentiment is perfect for this piece! The dots and chevron on the tissue paper are subtle and a very cool raised effect on the tissue paper background. Love it! Thanks for sharing with us at CC3C. <3 Candy
