Simon Says Monday Challenge - Anything Goes

Howdy all .. Happy Friday !!   It's the weekend .. YAY !!!   I wasn't sure if I would miss another week of entering a project into Simon's Monday Challenge, but I managed to get something done.   I had to do a card for my Daughter In Law's birthday and when I finished I really liked it and since it's an anything goes challenge I figured I would use my card.   I don't make cards much anymore, but I like this one.

I started with a technique I saw Wendy Vecchi's blog today.   She used her grid blocks with distress ink and made a water color type background.     I put picked raspberry, mustard seed ( yeah, I know .. shock :) and spiced marmalade.   I spritzed it with water and stamped it on Tim Holtz watercolor paper... this is what I ended up with

Pretty cool, huh ??!!??  Wendy is so clever :)   So I layered a Heidi Swapp watercolor tag on top edged with some antique linen distress ink.   I used a Prima flower and still it needed something else so I dyed some seam binding with the same colors distress ink I used on the card.   Here is the finished card .. I think it's cute !

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  I know I will ... I get to see my grandson tomorrow, well I get to see him on 3D ultrasound .. he's due in August.   He'll be our first boy .. we have three granddaughters now.  So it will be a great weekend for me.

Thanks for stopping in for a look .. Happy Crafting !!!!
