Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #12

   Happy Wednesday all !!

The challenge for CC3 is #41 - Distress Photo Tinting.    I've never done this technique, so I didn't know what to expect.   I think if I would of chose a different photo it might of worked better, but I had to use this sweet photo of my new grandson .. Jack.

I started with a 5x7 burlap canvas and I used modeling paste with Tim's "latticework" layering stencil and applied some to the top and bottom.  This gave the canvas some texture and filled in the empty space.

Once it dried I used some Mustard Seed (go figure) and some Vintage photo to ink up the modeling paste to dull down the white.    I didn't get many pictures of the in between, but I opened up my trinket case and started pulling things I thought might work on the canvas.    So I used alittle of this and little of that from my Tim stash and ended up with this ................

I think it turned out pretty cute .. I really think a different photo would of showed the technique off better, but I couldn't resist using that photo.

If you'd like to get the details to join in .. visit lindaledbetter.com.    Tim and Mario are givng the winner an awesome gift bag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is giving away a $25 gift card to a random draw.

Thanks for stopping in for a look .. Happy Crafting !
