Compendium Challenge #15

Howdy all !    I can't believe we're already on the 15th challenge !!   WOW, I might not be doing the greatest at blogging lately, but I have done all 15 of the challenges so I feel like I've accomplished something  :)     So this challenge is #38 - Cabinet Card Frames.   This is one of those things that I've had sitting in my stash (like many others) that I just wasn't sure what to do with.   but after seeing all the beyond amazing projects from the Curiousity Crew .. I had a better idea.

I went to a garage sale in my neighborhood and bought these 8x10 wood plaques .. figuring I could use them for something .. afterall they were 20 cents a piece !!     So here is the base of my project

We took the Grandkids to see Santa this weekend so I'm all about Christmas now.    I covered the board with Tim Holtz Merriment paper stash paper, then I used his Christmas layering stencil to put some words with texture paste around the outside edges.

I didn't take many in between photos because I just started rolling in the creative process and forgot :)   I used all kinds of Tim goodies for this one .. Kraft glassine paper, hitch fastners, tinsel twine, a monicle, some remnant rubs and a couple more which I have forgetten their names  :)    So here is the finished project ..  I"m not 100% happy, but heck when I am ever with my own creations.

  1. Cim - you should be 100% happy with this creation! What a beautiful way to display this photo! Love that you mounted the Cabinet card onto the wood plaque and added Tim's beautiful paper and stenciled words! The embellishments are perfect for the piece too! Great job! Thanks for joining us for this challenge (and for all of them!)

  2. Cim...I have no clue why you are not over the moon with this project! It's absolutely precious! You are right...you did use alot of Tim's elements on this and they are perfect! The choice of papers is awesome. I love how you layered them. I love your embossing using Tim's Christmas stencil. Your hanging embellishment made with several Tim Ideaology pieces is absolutely darling and the red tinsel twine and little wreath wrapped at the bottom really adds so much. This is darling! thanks for sharing with all of us at CC3C. <3 Candy
