Compendium of Curiosities - Challenge #2

Happy Friday Everyone !!   Woo Hoo .. we made it again to another weekend.  It was only 40 degrees this morning when I got up ...  not the normal for this time of year.    Although I for one love a cool crisp morning.   It's supposed to be 90 next week .. not my favorite weather .. more of a winter girl  :)

Well challenge #2 has been posted on   Lindaledbetter.com.   This weeks challenge is technique #56 .. Distress Glitter.    I love Tim Holtz's distress glitter it's so easy to work with.   As much as I love glitter I don't want it all over my face when I'm done and this stuff isn't like that, it's amazing stuff.   So I decided to do a small 6x6 burlap canvas.   I started with some Tim Holtz kraft resist paper and used Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn distress ink on it to give the appearance of a sky and grass.

Then I used Tim's "on the fence" sizzix die cut to cut me a fence .. I painted it with picket fence crackle paint and let it dry.   I used to be terrified of that crackle paint because it would never crackle for me .. then I discovered I was trying to make distress stickle crackle and take it from me .. it doesn't work  .. LOL    The containers were so alike and I never bothered to read the label .. duh !!!

I die cut 3 flowers from Tim's tattered floral sizzix die using grunge paper.   I then covered them with Rusty Hinge and Spiced Marmalade distress glitter.  Cut some strips and used Peeled Paint distress glitter on the stems.    For the middle of the flowers I used small round fragments and covered them in Peeled Paint distress glitter.

Wasn't sure if it would work on fragments, but it does  :)   So I wrapped some of Tim's paper string around the bottom  of the fence and placed a word band on top of that.   I like the way it turned out.  I almost wish I could of left some room for a sun in the corner so I could of used my Mustard Seed distress glitter .. my new go to color .. LOVE IT !!   Prize sponser this week is Funkie Junkie Boutique.  Last week I was the random draw and I won the $50 Inspiration Emporium gift certificate.   Needless to say I already spent it .. and more  :)  I bought myself a Tim Holtz hoodie .. YAY !!!  Thanks Inspiration Emporium.

Well I hope everyone has a great weekend .. thanks for stopping in for a look .. Happy Crafting !!!!
