Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge #10

Howdy all !   I've been really bad about blogging on a regular basis lately.   But I've been busy .. I hope things have slowed down so I can get back to things.    The challenge for CC3 this time around is #33 Assemblage Clock.  Now I won't lie when I saw this was the challenge I was terrified.   I've had one since they hit the shelves .. but every time I would pick up the box I would just feel so overwhelmed .. so I would never tackle it.

Well no choice now (thank you Linda..lol)  I got out my clock and decided to paint it ivory.  Didn't like that so I decided to add some tissue tape to the sides and use some Wild Honey distress paint to add some color to it.   Still wasn't happy with it so I decided to use some Walnut Stain distress ink and dull it down.

OK, so the outside was done now to tackle to inside.   It seems like a small space to cover but it really intimidated the heck out of me.  So I got out my trinket cases and just started picking out anything I might think would layer well.   I picked a salvage sticker of a couple and I started to build around that.  I also used some Maya Road pins .. I love to add pins into a project for some reason.   So I started layering and popping things up.   I made a flower using Tim's Tattered Flower Garland die to add a little pop of color.    Here is how the layers look .......

I'm not totally thrilled with it, but I'm proud of myself to at least try to tackle this clock that has been sitting in it's box for quite some time.

If you would like to join in on the fun check out Lindaledbetter.com and get the details.   Don't forget to check out the curiosities crew projects .. AMAZING as always.    Tim and Mario again will be offering a super sweet prize pack to the winner and The Funkie Junkie Boutique will be giving away a $25 gift card to a random draw.

I hope everyone has a great week ahead .. thanks for stopping in for a look .. Happy Crafting !!!

  1. It's funny how we change our color minds, isn't it? Love what you did with the wild honey, and you've created such a pretty collage inside. Thanks for joining us at CC3C, Cim!

  2. Cim...I really like your clock! Love the addition of the tissue tape to the bells! Not sure I've seen that but I like the idea! :) Love the wild honey exterior on your clock. That is one of my favorite Tim colors! :) You've really done a nice job with all of the ephemera that you've layered into such a cool collage on the inside as well. Great job! Thanks for sharing your clock with all of us at CC3C> <3 Candy
